Tokyo Skytree, at 634 meters, is not only the highest building in Japan, but it is also a widely recognized image of Tokyo. It’s a must-visit location for both tourists and locals, offering world-class shopping, a variety of food options, and spectacular panoramic vistas.
We’ll cover all you need to know about this in this guide, including how to get there, what to anticipate, and how to make the most of your trip.
What is Skytree Tokyo?
Tokyo Skytree, completed in 2012, is widely known as Japan’s tallest broadcasting tower. It has two observation decks, where visitors can enjoy a view over Tokyo and, on clear days, even see as far as Mount Fuji. At night, the tower lights up with seasonal illuminations, creating a beautiful display for all to enjoy.
This also has an aquarium and shopping complex, making it a place where visitors can enjoy much more than just the tower itself. It offers a variety of activities and experiences for everyone to enjoy.
Directions to Skytree in Tokyo
Tokyo Skytree is conveniently reachable by public transportation and is situated in the Sumida neighborhood.
There are many ways to access Tokyo Skytree, such as via the Ginza Line or Hanzomon Line. However, getting there by JR lines can be a bit taking some time. So, for those planning to visit, I recommend using a Tokyo Metro one-day pass. This allows you to explore other attractions along the Tokyo Metro routes, making it a convenient option for sightseeing.
