There are a bunch of convenience store in Japan, called ‘Konbini’ in Japanese.
And they are much better than the other countries’ convenience stores.
Whether you’re looking for a quick snack, a refreshing drink, or something to take home as a souvenir, Japan’s konbinis have got you covered. In this guide, I will introduce you to some of the best convenience store products that you simply can’t miss.
You’ll definitely be amazed when you visit a Japanese convenience store! If you’ve been to one, you know exactly what I mean. When I was studying abroad in Vancouver, the one thing I missed the most was probably the convenience store. In Tokyo, there’s always a convenience store within a 1-kilometer radius, and almost all the food there is just as delicious as what you’d find at a restaurant. You can get ice cream for around 100 yen, and there’s a wide variety of beverages too. Unlike Canada, in Japan, you can also buy alcohol at convenience stores, so it’s even possible to grab a drink and enjoy it in the park!
And there are three famous convenience stores in Japan, therefore, I will introduce some products of each store.

Karaage Stick – ¥180
This is Karaage with a stick.
Karaage is a type of fried chicken where the outside is crispy and the inside is tender and juicy. Unlike the fried chicken sold overseas, the coating is thicker and has a satisfying crunch. I used to buy this karaage on a stick almost every day on my way home from high school with my friends. It holds a lot of fond memories for me, so I highly recommend you try this delicious treat! And this is the most favorite food in Seven Eleven for me because this is so reasonable and easy to eat.
Meat Source Doria – ¥334
This is one of the best products among Japanese and this is a rice casserole with white sauce.
The lunch box or those products have really good quality in the Japanese convenience store
Moko Tanmen Nakamoto – ¥259
If you like a spicy food, you should eat this cup noodle.
Normally the spicy cup noodle is just a spicy and it’s difficult for me to feel tasty, and more often it just feels spicy.
However this cup perfectly balances deliciousness with spiciness.

Mochi Puyo – ¥113
A chewy dough filled with a smooth milk cream made from Hokkaido fresh cream.
And when I was a university student, this is my daily deserts after my class because it is so reasonable and I can eat just a one bite.
Thick Egg Sand – ¥354
A thick omelet mixing up with Japanese dashi and, sandwiched and accented with mustard and mayonnaise.
Next, let me introduce the egg sandwich. Japanese egg sandwiches are different from those in other countries, and the big difference seems to be the mayonnaise. Japanese mayonnaise has a slightly salty taste, which makes it incredibly delicious when used in sandwiches. Additionally, the bread in Japan is soft and fluffy, making it very easy to eat. It’s a simple yet tasty treat you should definitely try!
If you are crazy about the egg, this is essential to eat in Japan.
Pork Cutlet Sandwich collaborated with Maisen – ¥484
You can buy this sandwich on the specific stores which have “Machikado Chubo” and the stock is limited. However, this pork cutlet is nearly the same quality as the restaurant, and their source which is composed with vegetables, fruit is a really good accent.

Fami Chicken – ¥213
This is the signature menu in Family Mart and once you eat this, Juicy meat juices come out, and you will be crazy about this.
When it comes to FamilyMart, this product is definitely the most popular, without a doubt. It’s similar to karaage, but a little different. The moment you take a bite, the juicy meat spreads in your mouth, and you’ll definitely get hooked. It’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Be sure to give it a try!
Thick Noodle Yakisoba – ¥378
This is not normal yakisoba because this noodle is thicker than normal yakisoba and it will be chewy.
And I just would like to tell you that Japanese frozen products are no longer frozen products. It is almost a restaurant product.
Once you eat that, you can understand what I said!!
Chocolate Corn – ¥138
This is the chocolate product and once you eat this, chocolate is gonna be melted in your mouth so quickly and you can taste chocolate.
This is the most favorite quick snack in Japan for me so if you have a chance to eat some snacks, please pick this up!
